WAKYME 1200W Full Specifications:

There is a lot of information when comparing that lighting choices, except that it clearly does not cover the equipment’s important characteristics.
Light “watts,” for example: a light’s watts is a measure of the power consumed.
So there’s nothing to tell you about the efficiency of the light produced.
Watts, however, may be important to determine your future electric bill, your thermal signature, and to compare the relative light scale.
Therefore, the two main factors that matter when assessing the quality of the light produced are the spectrum included by the light (i.e. the colors generated by the light).

Here are the full specs of our WAKYME 1200W Review:

Advanced Platinum Series P450 LED Grow Light Review

Advanced-Platinum-P-450-Light

Advanced Platinum Series P450 Review

Advanced Platinum Series P450 Review

Advanced Platinum Series P450 Review

Coming with 150 Bridgelux LEDs rated at 3W each, the Advanced Platinum Series P450 LED Grow Light review provides one of the highest lumen/watt output among LED grow lights. In addition, this product comes with an amazing 11 band spectrum which is matched only by other Advanced Platinum products. These features allow this product to replace a 600W HPS light with ease. Furthermore, the product comes with two lenses : a primary one that allows 60 degrees refraction, and a secondary one that allows for 90 degrees light deviation. This light, with the wattage capacity and lenses, can provide excellent lighting to areas as large as 4.5′ x 4′.

Excellent Coverage With Uniform Luminosity

Its light quality is extremely high with an unmatched even distribution over the entire covered area.  With this even light distribution, you can purchase two Advanced Platinum Series P450 for larger areas. Place them about 4 feet from the center of the axis to achieve excellent cross-lighting for a larger grow room setup.

Great penetration for all plant growth stages

The manufacturer of the Advanced Platinum Series P450 450w 11-band LED Grow Light claims that the product has a penetration capacity of more than 60 cm from the top of the plant canopy. And we have found that this penetration is more than sufficient for even the bushiest of plants. Furthermore, this penetration is equally important for the vegetative and flowering phases. Although it is advisable to set up an additional 90W red LED UFO to achieve maximum flowering yields during the final flowering stage.

Custom-fit power cord for various countries

The package includes a power cord and hanging wires (with orders from Amazon to UK, EU, AU and US markets). This is actually based on the location of the order. This in turn ensures that there is never any possibility of incompatibility between the plant lighting port and the plugpoint. Though converters are available for transforming one type of plug into another, most achieve this at the cost of electrical efficiency. The Advanced Platinum Series P450 450w review is a good fit for a universally applicable grow light solution.

A couple of negative points

No product is perfect, and so we find that even this excellent product has its shortcomings. First off, the pricing of the Advanced Platinum Series P450 review LED Grow Light is a bit too high for amateur growers. Those are either not looking to profit and have already invested heavily in other areas.  However, in our opinion, it is well worth the price, delivering exceptional lighting.

Whether for domestic use or business, purchase of this item is a wise investment.

Advanced Platinum Series P300 Review

Advanced Platinum Series P300 Review

Advanced Platinum Series P300 Review

The Advanced Platinum Series P300 LED Grow Light is one of  our top recommended plant light for almost any grower and application.  This grow light is a newly launched state of the art Led with the bandwidth, heat management, and power switching ability that makes it a clear #1 choice.

The Advanced Platinum 300w 11-band LED Grow Series P300 is the newest in the Platinum series. It also includes Platinum light models ranging from 50 to 400 3w LED bulbs. The P300 includes switchable dual light spectrum, which provides plants with the most efficient light for their growth stage. It is hence perfect for vegetative and flowering plants. This P300 LED grow light uses a power supply of 93 watts on low power for growing plants. By simply flipping the switch, the power can be boosted to 185 watts for additional light and great spectrum when the flowers are blooming.

Technical Review

Delivering an amazing 11 band spectrum, the P300 can literally handle every plant type possible. The 100 3W LED lamps have a 60 degrees primary lens and the 90 degrees secondary lens. This setup ensures that the plants receive the greatest amount of light for every watt of power. It produces 2-3x the light offered by other products in the same category. The P300 has a 3.5’ x 4’ light coverage area, making it an option for professional growers.

The main features of this Advanced Platinum Series P300 include its eleven spectrum blend of lights covering 380/415/440/460/480/615/630/660/720/740/760nm. The light works at a voltage of AC 85 – 260v at power usage of 93w to 185w. It can be set up at a distance of 8 to 48 inches away from plants depending on the type of the plants. The total coverage area is 4.5’ X 3.8’ at a height of 18”.

Design

The upgraded aluminum coated heat sinks, with extremely quiet fans, which allow the heat to be removed quickly, ensure complete heat management.  There is also a VEG/FLOWER light switching options for those unfamiliar with multiple bands.

Pros and Cons of Advanced Platinum Series P300 300w

OUR VERDICT
PROS:

  • Provides Focused Lighting in Secondary Lenses: This P300 grow light comes with a set of full secondary lenses that focus the light downward straight to the plants. With the focused light, you can choose to set the lamp a bit far from the plants, yet still give them the light they need to grow and bloom. With secondary lenses lighting up the plants, the wavelengths from the light become more discreet.
  • Good Quality: The quality of this P300 refers to the light it provides and the efficiency of its system. The dual spectrum also allows you to switch the light for growing plants and for flowering plants. By combining 11 different band of light spectrum in one unit, with a range of 380nm up to 760nm UV, its high output of light is even more superior and outstanding than the other competitive growing lights in the market.
  • Efficient Power Usage: The P300 is an efficient LED grow light. Some units may even need the use of additional coolers to prevent the plants from burning out. The LED P300 is capable of producing high efficient light without drawing out too much energy. It only takes 25% of the electricity for it to operate. It also produces less to no heat, which is one important factor in growing indoor plants.
  • Self-Contained LED Lighting System: This light is self-contained and can work well without using other devices, like air conditioner to cool down the temperature in the plant area. It also has its own cooling fan that reduces the temperature as it works. More than that, this light is naturally at low heat because it only uses minimal electricity and energy. It does not require large ballast to operate. As simple as it can be, this lighting system can be set up and hung in the area you prefer.
  • Large Area Coverage: Even in its small size, 19 X 3 X 9 inches to be exact; it offers a large coverage for the plant area. It can then light up an area up to 4.5’ X 3.8’ at a height of 18”.
  • Light Modification: The dual spectrum works best on both the vegetative stages of plants as well as in all the phases of flowering. The plant would need approximately 93 watts during the growing stage. You can switch the unit to boost up the light at approximately 185 watts during the flowering stage. This will then give your plants the perfect environment to bloom wonderfully.

CONS:

  • Direct Light Focus Can Be Dangerous: Since this light provides focused lenses of light towards the plants, it also puts young plants at risk of being prematurely grown.
  • Expensive: Being the latest in the Platinum series, this LED grow light is fairly expensive. Some would not consider buying this because of its cost, especially for a small space for indoor plants. Despite its high value for its cost, many indoor growers may turn to the DL series instead.

Conclusion

There are many grow lights in the market today, but choosing an efficient and high powered LED grow light like the Advanced Platinum Series P300 300w 11-band LED is an excellent move for any grower. It offers both the dual spectrum lighting system of 11 different bands and the option to switch the power from minimal to maximum depending on the needs of the plants. It works for both the vegetative stage and the flowering stage. Alternatively, if you need more or less power, you can check out our two reviews of the Advanced Platinium Series P150 and Advanced Platinium Series P450.

The Brand

Black Dog is known by professional growers as one of the top brands on the market. Only a few brands can pretend to match the power and quality of light offered by these LED grow lights. Very frequently, when discussing best products in the industry with people who have been growing for years, the Black Dog name comes up.
They are often criticized for their high prices, especially lately (with more and more new asian brands offering powerful lights at low prices), but Black Dog fans consider that the reliability of their products make up for the high price tag. Many growers have been using the same Black Dog lights for years and still achieve today better yields than with other newer, lower range lights. The power efficiency is also difficult to beat and for professionals growers, the energy savings that the light will bring will balance the high purchase cost on the long-term.

Black Dog LED Review – PhytoMAX-2

PhytoMAX-2 is Black Dog latest product line and it is available in various power settings (200W, 400W, 600W, 800W, 1000W). We managed to get our hands on the 200W and 600W models and it might just be the best LED grow lights we tried this year. The brand also just dropped their prices on their latest model, the PhytoMAX-2. So we thought it could be a great opportunity to see if the product quality is worth the price.

Black Dog LEDs are all made in America and offer a consistent high-quality product. It comes with a serious warranty if any issue arises. Their colors and spectrum technologies are the result of years of research and the yields that these lights can bring are simply incredible. We do not often have such a positive impression but it really seems the only problem with their products is really the price. Only serious operations will justify such a high entry cost.

Lastly, don’t forget that power is only one of the factors to consider when purchasing a LED grow light. When comparing grow lighting options there is a lot of information provided that simply does not cover the important characteristics of the equipment. For example, light “watts”: the watts of a light is a measurement of the power consumed. So it does not tell you anything about the quality of the light delivered. However, Watts can be important for determining your future electric bill, your thermal signature and for comparing the relative size of the light. But not for the quality of the lighting delivered. Hence, the two key measurements that matter in comparing the quality of the light delivered are the spectrum that the light includes (ie, the colors the light creates).

OUR VERDICT
PROS:

The Brand

BLOOMSPECT just released the new version of their LED grow light and we received and tested the 300W (with secondary lens) and the 600W models. We heard a lot about the brand over the past few years so we are excited to see what these entry-level lights can do! Most users that contacted us about the brand were very happy with them and some claim they are up to twice more efficient than other more expensive brands with comparable power supply. If you are on a budget but don’t want to sacrifice light efficiency, you might be considering the BLOOMSPECT range.
Read our full BLOOMSPECT review below too see if it matches your objectives.

BLOOMSPECT Product Range

BLOOMSPECT lights are available in different power settings : 300W, 600W and 900W. However, only the 300W is available with a secondary lens option that increases light penetration and efficiency. They all have full-spectrum capability with VEG/BLOOM switch and the heat dissipation technology is quite impressive : integrated fans are one of the best seen at this price level.

Lastly, don’t forget that power is only one of the factors to consider when purchasing a LED grow light. When comparing grow lighting options there is a lot of information provided that simply does not cover the important characteristics of the equipment. Hence, the two key measurements that matter in comparing the quality of the light delivered are the spectrum that the light includes (ie, the colors the light creates).

For example, light “watts”: the watts of a light is a measurement of the power consumed. So it does not tell you anything about the quality of the light delivered. Pros and Cons of All Grow Lights Types – Grow Lights For Indoor Plants

Plants growing outdoors of course  use the energy from the sunlight and can grow to the size of a tree in less than a year but when you grow marijuana indoors, your lighting is your number one priority. It is a good idea to understand all grow lights types and invest in the best lighting option you can afford. There are a few good options for a grow light.

Main Grow Lights Types

Grow Lights Types

LED Grow Lights

LED lights are highly efficient, require less electricity, create much less heat, and contain more wavelengths across the light spectrum, which leads to better quality plants. Check out the most popular LED Grow Lights. Here are some other advantages and a few disadvantages for LED grow lights types:

PROS:

  • The LED Grow Lights have increased lifetime – their light emitting diodes have high efficiency but low energy use. On that account, they are energy saving – they produce the same amount of light as other grow lights but consume fewer watts. LED grow lighting emits far less heat than the lighting methods of other grow lights which is of great importance for the plant grow – too much heat can be damaging to the plants, and decrease their growth and lifetime. LEDs are also easily controllable and  many of them are waterproof and dustproof, as well as recyclable. Finally, they are easy to install – their design is “all-in-one-package” and requires for the light to be simply plugged in, and hung up.

CONS:

  • One of the main cons of LED grow lights are the initial expenses – this type of lights are considerably more expensive than others. Despite the return on investment, the fact that you will need to spend a lot of money in the first place is important to consider, however it is worth the investment.  Another con is the purple color LEDs emit, under which some damage stays hidden. For example, pest prevention may be harder because the light hides pest damage. LED grow lights are also severely heavy because they include an appropriately sized heat sink

Fluorescent Grow Lights

Fluorescent lights are a good option for basic indoor gardening, beginners in indoor gardening, and herb gardens. These type of lights come in different shapes and sizes. For example, there are T5 grow lights, a popular type, which are big, panel-like lights. There are also CFL grow lights which have twisty looking bulbs. Here are some other advantages and a few disadvantages for fluorescent grow lights types:

PROS:

  • Fluorescent grow lights are generally less expensive compared to other grow lights. They have a good light spectrum for growing cannabis and are a suitable option for beginning stages of growing such as clones, seedlings and young plants. Similar to LED grow lights, they do not generate a lot of heat and do not use too much electricity. They can be kept closer to the plants, which makes them a good option for small indoor grow spaces. An advantage which applies to T5 grow lights is that they emit light that covers a large area.

CONS:

  • Among the disadvantages of fluorescent grow lights is the small yield per watt (those type of lights has the smallest yield per watt of any other type), and the fact that they are not as useful during the vegetative and flowering stages of plant growth because the fluorescent light is not strong enough to penetrate deep down into the plant. They are most beneficial for short and flat plants.

HID Grow Lights

The HID (high intensity discharge) lights can be either a HPS (high-pressure sodium) or MH (metal halide). It is better to use each type at a different stage. MH bulbs should be used during vegetative growth, while HPS bulbs are a better option for the mature flowering stage. Here are some of the pros and cons for HID grow lights types.

PROS:

  • HID grow lights have a relatively low initial cost. They emit very bright and very intense light which is able to penetrate the canopy and nourished the whole plant. There is plenty of reliable and detailed information on HID grow lights since they have been used for indoor growing for decades. MH bulb spectrum includes UV (ultraviolet) light which stimulates production of terpenes and resin for better flavor and THC levels. HPS bulbs can be used for the full grow cycle, though it’s optimal to use MH instead for the vegеtative stage.

CONS:

  • Disadvantages of HID grow lights are the following: bulbs should be frequently changed which increases running costs in the long term. HID lights, especially HPS bulbs generate a big amount of heat and get extremely hot. Therefore, they are not suitable for smaller spaces, especially if not cooled properly. They have to be hung higher than other lights to protect the plants and a complex cooling system should be established which will also generate costs. Another additional cost will be the increased water and nutrient bills due to evaporation. The lights include high levels of infrared which can damage plants in the long run. HPS bulbs create much more green and yellow light than the plants actually need, wasting energy. They are also not great for the environment because the bulbs contain toxic metals.
